Born on 18 April 1960 in Leicester, and from 1964 when all the so called slum areas were still being knocked down i ended up living on the newley built council/social housing estate called Saint Matthews  . I lived in a downstairs maisonette which was a row of houses with a row of houses on top. Each having their on front door but a shared stairway. I lived at no. 19 Montreal Rd and my first school was called Taylor junior/infant school which was just up the road. When i was 11 years old i went to the Rushey Mead secondry modern school which was about 3 miles away. Also moved house to no. 66 Lethbridge close which was just around the corner still on the Matthews Est. Must admit that i loved living on the Matthews, always plenty to do and plenty of grass areas  and walking distance to the city centre. My first hero was Bobby Moore hence the reason i support West Ham but also have a soft spot for my local team Leicester City.I got into music when i was about 12 and started to listen to Slade,Sweet,Wizzard,Mott the Hoople and then David Bowie,Roxy Music and Sparks. To this day i still listen and watch Sparks live.I spent my saturdays going to watch West Ham in the 70's and 80's and sometimes Leicester if i couldnt afford to travel. The big change in my life happened when somebody at work gave me a record he had just got and said it was crap so gave it to me. It was "God Save The Queen"  by the Sex Pistols, and i had never heard of them before. I went home and played it and within 10 minutes i was bouncing off my bedroom walls and music to me was never the same again. I really could not describe how i felt listening to that song,it was like something i had never felt before. For the next 5 years punk more or less took over my life and saw some great bands ( and still do ).

Then in 1982 i suddenly got fed up with living in the UK,dead end jobs etc and wanted to do something different. After overhearing someone in a pub talking bout the kibbutz scene in Israel i decided to give it a shot. So withing two weeks i was on a plane to Tel Aviv not knowing what i was gonna do when i got off the plane. Anyhow i  ended up on kibbutz Dovrat ,not too far from Nazareth and Sea of Galilee where i workd in the kitchens , fields, restaurant, chickens. Met some real good people overthere and got to see alot of Israel and thats where i lived for the next year. Next up i went to Kibbutz Mishmarot which was not too far from Natanya and stayed there for nearly a year too, doing the same sort of work. Tried my luck on a couple of moshavs where you work harder and get paid more but it wasnt for me so i went back to another kibbutz. I spent about 4-5 months on kibbutz Kuvsat Shiller which was south of Tel Aviv. Really enjoyed most of the work on that place, driving tractor and field work. This was now 1985 and i decided to go back to my first kibbutz again ( Dovrat ) which by far was my favourite. Now this is where another big change happened coz its where i met my wife Nancy.

When she left i decided to leave a month after ,and went to visit her in Scotland. This was now towards the end of 1985 and i had been in Israel for about 4 years. Before i knew it i had  a bedsit in Glasgow ( Queens Park ) a job at the Glasgow Council just up the road ( walking distance )  at Polmadie and decided to get married. First son David was born in 1986 and we moved to Cumbernauld ( South Carbrain ) and at the same time i started to go to the odd punk gig again. Second son Martyn was born in 1988 and we moved back to Glasgow again ( Kings

Park ) , walking distance from work yet again.Wayne my third son was born in 1990 and we moved yet again to Cumbernauld ( Seafar ). Sarah was born in 1993 and Matthew in 1997. We moved again still in Cumbernauld but at the  Carricksone area.

In 1999 i finally got in touch with my dad who i had never met before and got on a plane and went to a place called Sahuarita near Tucson in Arizona. Met my dad ( my mum had died a few months earlier but she was happy i had been in touch with him ).

Met my grand parents, cousins, sisters, brothers and for 2 weeks had a great time. Even managed to get a few pints in Nogales in Mexico for a few hours. My grandaughter Evelyn was born in 2009 ( daughter to my son David ). At the moment im still working for the Glasgow city council and this year 2014 will be my 28th year working for them. Also the same year is my 37th year of being into the punk scene and still go to the gigs and festivals.
